So, I'm home for Christmas. It's my first night here. I almost fell asleep on the way home, was on the verge of sleep on my parents' couch watching old movies earlier...
(sidenote, if you have any sort of appreciation for old movies...and to define that, I mean pre-1970s, 80s and 90s movies are not "old" yet! And quite honestly, I wouldn't consider 70s movies old either and maybe not even 60s...you MUST watch the Thin Man movies!! William Powell and Myrna Loy may be my favorite on screen couple EVER!! anywaayyyss...)
I'm practically falling over on my way to my bed, put on Midnight in Paris (a FABULOUS new movie :) ) and now I'm back to my usual sleepless self...of course!
There's no tv in my room here and my laptop and the wireless don't get along so I'm down in the study on their old desktop! Officially feel like I'm in high school again and my mom's gonna wake up and come yell at me for being on AIM and MySpace when I should be up in bed! Except now I'm Pinteresting and blogging with a glass of wine.
Although, she may get ticked that I'm using a regular glass instead of a wine glass...(my "terrible college student ways" haha)
It was so funny that I was watching Myrna Loy earlier and just wishing I could go back and live in the '30s and be her friend!! (When did all the class and beauty and style of that era go out of style and WHY?!) And then I watch Midnight in Paris which basically provides the insight that every era has a "Golden Age" that they wish to go back to but you just need to stop living a life of wishing you could go back somewhere you've never even been and make the most of your present. Maybe even try to do something with your life that will make you a reason that eventually someone will think of today as the "Golden Age"...
But I digress...
(I do love saying that randomly, heh)
Last thought of the night...
You know how they say "life's not fair"...? Well they're damn right!!
And it SUCKS!!!
But.......it's unfair to everyone in its own way, and I bet you can find a lot of people that have way less "fair" lives than you do. So suck it up and get over your petty little problems and think about someone else!
:)
Okay, the desktop doesn't want me to post a video for whatever reason...sooo...
Go listen to Winter Song by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson ORRR any She & Him Christmas song...or whatever song you want! But preferably Christmas because it's officially Christmas Eve, Eve :)
Hope you all enjoy what you give and receive!

Muuuusic Monday :)
...not as fun as Margarita Monday, but still pretty fabulous.
Hello my lovely, lovely readers!
I am having an incredibly wonderfully lazy day!! I work in a few hours, but so far all I've done is watching part 2 of Stephen King's Bag of Bones(which was awesome! watch it!) and do laundry.
Now I'm watching a Netflix I got in the mail the other day:
An almost unrecognizable Zooey Deschanel stars...it's pretty good so far! I already have a favorite line haha:
I'm too lazy to organize the post I was planning on doing so I decided to switch that to tomorrow and do a "Music Monday" post! :)
No theme, just good jams. Here ya go:

"I think that if everything that you've done before makes you who you are now, then no matter how ugly it is i'm just gonna have to learn to deal with it. Because right now, it's you and me..."
I'm too lazy to organize the post I was planning on doing so I decided to switch that to tomorrow and do a "Music Monday" post! :)
No theme, just good jams. Here ya go:
Shake it Out: Florence + The Machine....just a really good pump up! She's so good at being positive, I love it.
"It's hard to dance with the devil on your back so shake him off!"
23: Jimmy Eat World - it's an oldie but a goodie; I'm kinda stuck on it right now. It's one of those songs that comes and goes but when it comes back around it gets stuck with me for a while.
"You'll sit alone forever if you wait for the right time. What are you hoping for?"
Poison & Wine: The Civil Wars - This song is absolutely beautiful. These two have the most amazing musical chemistry and produce some of the most beautiful harmonies I have ever heard. (Props to my friend Elise for informing me of who sings this, I loved this song and The Civil Wars completely separately until she told me! haha)
"Your hands can heal, your hands can bruise. I don't have a choice, but I still choose you."
okay, last one!
The Christmas Song: She & Him - Because Zooey Deschanel has an amazing voice, and because Christmas is in 6 dayyyss!! :)
"Although it's been said, many times, many ways...Merry Christmas to you..."
Hope you are having a beautiful holiday season. I hope your Christmas brings you everything you deserve and more!
Thanks for reading! (and listening, this time...)

friendship
“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art, like the universe (for God needed not to create). It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival. “ – CS Lewis
People will come and go, in and out of your life, for your whole life. But there will always be those select few (other than your family, of course) that will be there forever; even if it’s a coming and going kind of forever.
Those are the ones that matter, and you can usually tell who they’re going to be almost right off the bat. They put their own needs aside for yours, not always, especially as you get closer! But, even when they’re letting you put their needs ahead of yours for once, they’re still thinking about you.
When you find people who will think of others ahead of themselves, hold onto them! There are so many selfish assholes (excuse the language if it bothers you) in this world! DO NOT waste your time on them.
People have told me almost my whole life that I am “nice to a fault”…and it’s true so much! I will let selfish people in my life and then just let them WAYY over stay their welcome. I’m getting better about it, but DO NOT follow my example. These people have no place in your life. They will ALWAYS think about themselves before you and that’s not right.
Not that I’m saying every second of your life think about everyone else first! You need to think about yourself first sometimes…seriously! But when it comes to relationships of any kind, it is not supposed to revolve around one person and one person alone. If you let the right kind of people in your life they will think about you before themselves and you will think about them before yourself and there will be an equal amount of give and take.
Selfish assholes have no place in our lives; be nice, think about others, but don’t let people just walk all over you because you expect people to be as selfless are you are.
Long story short, the people that matter are going to stick around.
The people that matter and add value to your life are going to be the people who don’t let petty things disturb the relationship. They’re going to listen to you and care. And you will listen to them and care.
Nothing is a task or a hassle or an obligation with these relationships.
It just works.
(and yes I’m talking about EVERY type of relationship: friends, dating, family…every significant relationship)
Okay and this is the song i was jammin' while writing this...it's awesome! enjoy :)
